A Brighter Future for Everyone
Curriculum Intent
At Claremont, children learn to speak Spanish. We believe that learning another language gives children a new and broader perspective on the world, encouraging them to understand their own cultures and those of others.
Our languages curriculum aims to teach Spanish through memorable, interactive and engaging lessons. We encourage all children to respect the diversity in both our school and the local and wider community. This feeds into our whole school vision where we celebrate diversity by representing many different cultures and religions within our community. Children will develop an interest for learning other languages and the teaching of Spanish in KS2 will provide a balance of spoken and written language laying the foundations for further foreign language learning in KS3.
