At Claremont, we are committed to providing healthy, balanced meals that meet the Government Food Standards. All our school dinners are freshly prepared each day in our own kitchen by Eat Culture, the Nottingham City Catering Service.

Meal Costs and Entitlement

• Nursery: £2.70 per day
• Reception, Year 1 & Year 2: All meals are free under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
• Key Stage 2: £2.95 per day

Payment for school dinners should be made online through Arbor, our secure parent portal.

Packed Lunches

If your child prefers to bring a packed lunch, we encourage healthy, balanced choices. Please note:

• No fizzy drinks or sweets
• For the safety of children with severe allergies, no nuts or nut-based products (e.g., peanut butter) are not allowed in school.

We work closely with Eat Culture to ensure the special diet process is effective, reassuring you that children with allergies or intolerances can eat safely. Free School Meals

All pupils in Reception through Year 6 may qualify for free school meals. Upon progression to Year 3, pupils lose their Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) entitlement, meaning that unless parents or guardians submit an application for free school meals, meal charges will apply.

From September 2026, Free School Meals will be organised into two distinct categories:

Targeted FSM

• Definition: Covers pupils in households receiving Universal Credit with an annual net earned household income of £7,400 or less (alongside legacy benefits like income-related ESA or asylum support). 

• Entitlements: Unlocks Free School Meals plus additional linked benefits including Pupil Premium / Ever 6 FSM funding, the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, and extended home-to-school travel rights. 

Expanded FSM

• Definition: A new category covering all other pupils in households receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings above the £7,400 threshold. 

• Entitlements: Qualifies the child for Free School Meals only during term-time. It does not attract Pupil Premium, Ever 6 status, deprivation funding, or access to the HAF programme.
