Claremont Primary and Nursery School

A Brighter Future for Everyone

Ofsted visit to our school

We have had the latest Ofsted report following their visit to our school on 2nd and 3rd November.

Here are some headlines:

  • We remain to be judged as a Good School.

Our strengths include:

  • Pupils say that they like school and that they feel safe because bullying is rare.
  • Maths and Early Reading are taught well.
  • Reading is a top priority in our school.
  • Safeguarding is effective.

Our next steps are:

  • To plan our curriculum more carefully so that the sequence of learning is more clear.
  • To develop our subject leadership of the broader curriculum subjects such as history, geography, science and RHSE.
  • To develop a more effective way of checking on the learning of key knowledge, skills and vocabulary in each year group.

Ofsted will return in one to two years to check on our progress against the Section 5 framework - a full inspection of the school.

Thank you for your ongoing support and, with this in mind, we will continue to move forwards to achieve our ultimate goal of making Claremont the best school possible for all of our children and families.
