Draw a picture of your favourite animal for the zoo keeper. If you do not have paper at home you could use the Dojo App.
As an extension your child could write the initial sound of the animal they have chosen.

This week our special nursery rhyme is Five Little Monkey’s Jumping on the Bed. When your child is more familiar with the rhyme they could act it out with their own teddies on their bed. This is very similar to the song we did last week so hopefully your child will be more confident to have a go!

Revisit our story of the week. Encourage your child to join in with the repeated words "I sent him back ".
As an extension your child could try retelling the whole story using pictures of the animals as prompts.
After listening to the story play an animal noise game together. Have fun making animal noises and guessing which animal they are from or you could listen to the noises below:

Play I Spy using the below picture. At this point it may be too tricky to use initial sounds but you could play this game in different ways such as I spy with my little eye something that is:

Say your name out loud. Can you hear what sound your name begins with? Can you find any items in your house that start with the same sound.
My teacher name begins with a 'w'. I found a window, wipes and wellies! I wonder what you will find!
Extension activity:
Can you write the first sound in your name? Can you write any more letters? I would love to see a photo on Dojo.
