Claremont Primary and Nursery School

A Brighter Future for Everyone

Activity 1 – Drawing

Communication and Language, Expressive Arts and Design

Tell you grown-up what you can see during a day and what things you can see at night. Can you draw a picture of them?

Activity 2 - Constellation telescope

Expressive Arts and Design

The children colour a paper towel tube with markers. Cover the end with a circle of black paper, attach it with a rubber band, and poke holes in the paper with a toothpick/skewer. When the telescope is held up to the light it looks like stars are shining through.

Tip: We really liked the effect when we looked directly at the light and turned the telescope 😊

A bonus activity - Star Wand

Agata and I really enjoyed making our own Star Wand.

You will need:

- paper

- a stick (we used skewers)

- a sticky tape and glue

- decorations (we used tin foil and some crepe ribbons)

Agata loved playing with her star wands
