Zumba!

Zumba is so much fun! Here is a video that my little boy and I like doing at home. It is simple and fun, everybody can join in. It is a great way to feel energetic.

 

 

Zumba Kids (easy dance) - I like to move it

Weaving

This is an activity to help strengthen your fingers and improve fine motor control. Why not have a go at weaving, using things from around the house?

 

Step 1 Grab some paper, scissors and an old magazine/newspaper/coloured paper or card or even ribbon if you have some.

Step 2 Fold the paper in half and use some scissors to make slits across the fold but not to the edge, of the paper.

Step 3 Cut some long strips from your magazine/newspaper/card/paper.

Step 4 Fold out your paper with the slits. Start at one side and weave your strips under and over the slits. You could try and make a  repeating pattern with your strips. Repeat until your paper is is full of your woven strips.

How does exercise make your body feel?

For Physical Friday, we are going to investigate how our bodies feel after we have done exercise! First, sit down and rest. Are you feeling hot, cold or just right? Are you feeling tired or energetic? Feel your heartbeat, is it steady or fast? Think about how you feel when you are resting...hopefully calm and relaxed. You have now been doing 5 minutes of exercise. Does your body feel different? Are you feeling warm or cold? How does your heartbeat feel? Are you feeling tired or energetic? Perhaps you are feeling thirsty!

 

Usually, exercise makes us feel warmer and makes our heart beat faster as it pumps more blood around our body. Sometimes we feel tired when we have done exercise although it can make us feel like we have more energy too! It is always important to have a drink after we exercise. Our bodies lose water as we sweat to keep cool so it it important we top up the water in our body.

Dancing Competition!

 

We love a good boogie when we are in school, especially during golden time! For our Physical Friday activity this week we are having a dancing competition! It's easy to join in, just put on your favourite music and do your best moves. Ask a grown up to take a video or photo and send it in. We will announce the winner at the end of the day!
