Welcome to Claremont! J

It has been lovely to welcome back our existing nursery pupils, we were so proud to see how quickly they have settled back in! We are also really looking forward to welcoming lots of new children over the course of this term too! We have a parent noticeboard in the cloakroom area which will have up-to-date information about nursery including the school dinner menu, any upcoming events and reminders. You can also find more information and photographs of our exciting activities on our class page on the school website.

As always if you ever have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to come and speak to one of us – there will always be a member of staff availableJ.

Our Topic

Our topic this half term is ‘All About Me’ and our main focus is settling in all our new and existing children. We will be reading lots of exciting books linked to this topic such as Owl Babies, Elmer and The Little Red Hen. We will also be learning about Goose Fair and Diwali and reading about the story of Rama and Sita.

Each week we will have different adult-led activities including making our own faces out of different materials, baking bread, making masks and lots more! There will be lots of occasions for you to come in and join in with our activities and we will keep you posted about these through the parent noticeboard and letters sent home.

During our Elmer week we will be learning more about ourselves and our families. Could you please either bring in or email us a family photo that we will use as a talking point during our group time and then will go on display in our home corner.

Share a Story

In F1 we love reading stories and we would love you to join in with this too! Every Friday at 3:10pm there will be a drop-in reading afternoon! Here you can read a story with your child, bring in your own story to read or sit with your child and listen to a story together. The day will change each half term to allow more parents to come and enjoy a story. ‘Share a Story’ sessions will begin from the week commencing 16th September. We can’t wait to see you hereJ.

Wow Moments!

At Claremont we want to celebrate all of your child’s achievements both in and out of school. This can be anything your child has done that has made you proud! For example, if they can score a goal, if they can use a spoon independently to feed themselves or if they can sing a song! No matter how small it may seem – it is a big step for them! We will share these moments during our small group time and give your child the opportunity to tell us some more information. You can find these sheets in the letter rack in F1.

General Information

Please bring in a named water bottle filled with water only for your child every day.

Please make sure all items of clothing are labelled to prevent them from getting lost!

The children will have P.E on Friday morning. They do not need to change for this.
