A Brighter Future for Everyone

I was going to make a start on reading Holes by Louis Sachar as our class reader for the summer term. This is one of my favourite books to read to children. I can't wait to share it with you!

Your first English task is to listen to chapter one, two and three on the youtube links below. The text is part of the video clip so you can read along. Or, you could mute the clip so you could read the text. Then,  answer the comprehension questions about the chapters. Remember, it is ok to go back and reread if you can't fully remember an answer.

Complete the White Rose maths lesson for Monday 20th - Vertically opposite angles. There is a video on the website to support your learning.

There is a worksheet to complete below. You can either print this out or write the answers in the workbook you took home, on some paper or type them out. It's up to you!

The answer sheet is included to check your work against. Please don't look at the answers until you have attempted the worksheet yourself!

Mexico has some very famous and recognisable music. Music is a very important part of Mexican culture and is always part of every celebration - no matter how big or small.

Have a listen to the music in the clips below.

What instruments can you hear?

Can you find household items to create a percussion instrument to play along with the band?

Can you make up your own interpretive dance to the music?
