So if you're at home, this will help you keep up to date with what's going on at school.

Planning: How to Investigate magnets

I hope you remember our magnet investigation when we used different shields to see how strong magnets were.

Using notes (not sentences), plan your Instruction Text to tell someone how to do the Investigation.

Use Resource 3 at the bottom of the page to remind you what an Instruction Text must contain.

Writing:

Use your planning from the last lesson to write the Instructions for the magnets investigation.

Planning: How to Mummify a Body

  • First of all, click here to open an article from the BBC about Mummification.Use the planning sheet (Resource 3 at the bottom of the page) to make some notes as you go along.
  • Now, open up Resource 4 to get some more information about it. Add notes to your planning sheet.
  • Lastly, click here to watch a short clip about the mummification process. Don't forget to add more notes to your planning sheet as well.

Editing: 

Editing means:

  • Checking for Capital Letters and Full Stops
  • Check the sentences make sense
  • Check they are not too long
  • Ensure they contain adjectives where necessary
  • Ensure they contain adverbs where necessary
  • Make sure you don't make simple spelling mistakes
