2CH

Hello and a welcome to 2CH!

-Where we are all  AWESOME!

Happy Monday 2CH!!

Well I hope that you have had a wonderful week off for half-term. The sun was shining and it was a wonderful warm week. I know I made the most of the warm weather and spent many hours outside over the last week and even drove out for a walk on Thursday to a Reservoir, which was really beautiful, I have. I have also been enjoying some reading out in the garden, I might have not been able to leave my house much, but reading a good book means that you can travel to lots of different places in your mind and imagination. I would love to hear how you spent your half-term. If you want to send Mrs Hann or I any pictures, or just write to us and tell us what you have been doing we would love to hear from you.

Barney's News

Barney's News 1

Barney’s hair is starting to grow back, but he is very happy with his new haircut whilst it has been hot, as it has meant that he can enjoy being outside without getting to hot. Barney also had a lovely surprise delivered, it was some doggy ice-cream that was sent from one of his grandparents. I think he thought it was really yummy, because he ate it really quickly and it kept him cool during the warm weather.

Well this is the last half-term in Year 2 and we are on the count down to the summer holidays. However, this half-term, like the past two, is looking very different to what we had imagined. We had a trip to the sea-side planned, so that we could learn all about the seas and to look at beach-huts, so if you want to do some extra work you could always look into the history of the beach hut, ready for when you next have the opportunity to visit the seaside.

As before half-term we going to continue with our Oak Academy learning this week. I am so happy that so many of you are enjoying the series of lessons and are also enjoying the routine that you have in place to access this. If you have not accessed them before then follow the steps below:

  • Click the link at the top of this page, called Oak National Academy Classroom, it will take you to the webpage
  • Then select schedule
  • Select Year 2
  • Then select the correct day, in the right-hand corner
  • Three daily lessons will appear, Topic (Foundation) Maths and Literacy.
  • Click the lesson you want to take part in and have a go.

We are also going to continue with our daily fun challenges, that you can choose to join in with, I have tried to add a range of ideas, so there is something for everyone. So here they are:

We haven’t set any cooking challenges whilst you have been off, but I know that many of you have been doing some cooking with your family. So today I thought I would share one of my favourite pizza recipes with you. You can give this a try for you and your family, or you could create your own pizza using a different recipe. Remember to send in your photos and write up your recipes to share with the rest of the class. I have added the recipe, under the literacy tab, called pizza recipe.

Another science experiment for you to try this week. This one is called Storm in a Glass. To find all of the detailed information and what you will need, click the science tab and then click the document called Storm in a Glass. I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creative creations, remember you need to also help tidy up after you have finished with your science experiment.

Since we have been at home, we have been accessing lots of work and resources online, so, today I would like you to complete at least one of the four activities from the link below on some work around internet safety to make sure that you are staying safe and know what to do if you are worried about something online.

Just click the link and have a go:

On your walk today take a piece of paper and a pencil or crayon with you. On your walk see if you can find a tree. Go up to the tree and look closely. What can you see? What does it feel like? Remember to use a range of adjectives to describe your nouns. Now place your piece of paper over the bark and gently rub your pencil or crayon over your paper to create a bark rubbing. Send us your tree rubbings and if you want to add your adjectives around it, then it would be fantastic to see.

Ether in the home or outside in the garden, create a treasure hunt for you and your family. Set up clues around the house for your family to follow and remember to leave a surprise at the finish for them to find.

Please note!!!

By sending us photos/pictures/videos of work or of your child you give us consent to put these on to the website. We will also be pairing this with a well done message containing your child's first name. If you do not wish for this to be put on the website please make this clear in your email or message to us.
